Growing up I did well in school but couldn’t remember to bring my homework back to class, my desk was always a disorganized mess (and my room at home was worse), and I struggled to pick out the important things to take notes on during lectures. I think back then they didn’t understand ADHD in girls/women as well, so instead of being diagnosed at that time, I was given extra study skills classes from 4th grade on. I enjoyed the structure of the note-taking-suggestions, but nothing ever stuck as something I could do consistently.
