Recording of "The Love Affair Between Soil and Water: Ecosystem Restoration through Outcome-based Management"
Nature Nerd Chat
On Friday, January 19th we had another interesting and inspiring Nature Nerd Chat. Michael Hogan joined Valeria Serna (unfortunately, Britt Jerlinga was out sick during the chat) and me in discussing the everlasting love affair between soil and water. Michael shared some of the projects he’s worked on during his career and impressed upon us that going into a challenge with humility and collaborative listening is very important for soil health regeneration work.
If you missed the chat, you’ll find the recording at the bottom of this post.
Some notes and links for context and deeper dives on projects and topics are listed below.

Why and how we believe; another TED talk by Michael Shermer (this is relevant since we so often believe that the environmental work we do actually produces the results we imagine). That is captured in the statement, often used that when we do some treatment to a site, we’ve ‘restored’ that site. It’s also the foundation of arguably ALL BMP’s (‘Best’ Management Practices)
